The 1995-96 operating grant from the Ministry will be $30 million, an increase of about 4% over last year. The increase will go toward building up student seats and instructional and staff support, which will be transferred to the Pinetree Way campus when it opens in Fall 1996. The increase means 205 more FTE, down from the 275 that were projected. Vice- President of Finance & Administration Peter Greenwood says budgeting for Pinetree Way is a priority for the College. ‘We’ ve planned an adequate level of activity for Pinetree Way’s opening, but we’re concerned that unless we receive adequate FTE increases it will be very difficult to operate the new campus effectively. Senior administration has met with Ministry officials to describe the problems and discuss solutions. College Board representatives have also met with the Tri-City MLAs to ensure they are aware of the situation.
