ARCHIVES NEW ROLES: pele se PROGRAM DESIGNER — Each student is expected to prepare a comprehensive learning plan including: specitication of her/his learning requirements in the form of learning objectives, an outline of neces- sary tasks to fulfill the objectives, a plan for evaluating learning outcomes, and a list of resources re- quired to meet learning objectives. ™ _ PROGRAM FACILITATOR — Each student will implement her/his ‘own learning plan. The learning re- sources and the method are determined by the learner. PROGRAM EVALUATOR — in terms of their stated learning objectives, each student will evaluate her/his learning outcomes and document evidence of learning which she/he will submit to the department as proof of her/his breadth of understanding of an area within the field. COURSES — There are no required courses. The program is divided into three phases: program design, Program implementation, program evaluation and thesis. Each phase is equivalent to twelve credit hours of university instruction. ORIENTATION — All new students are required to participate in the program orientation for a minimum of three weeks. There are three entry times: January, July and September. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS — All applicants must have at least two year's experience in individual, community, or group adult learning projects in addition to a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in behavioural or social science and an over-all B average. NEW RESPONSIBILITIES: THE LEARNER a prepares her/his learning plan The initiative and responsibility (i.e., completing her/his learning plan) rests with the student. ~ chooses to work with faculty through personal contact on an appointment basis, through the mail, or by telephone.
