ENVIRONMENT MEETING

 

A federal and provincial 'Town Meeting' will be held Thursday,

May 3 at John Oliver High School Auditorium, 530 East 41st Ave.,
Vancouver at 7:15 p.m. to allow representatives from each federal

and provincial political party to express their party's position on
current environmental issues.

The meeting will be moderated by Dr. Ken J. Hall, Chairman of the
Fraser River Coalition, and will cover issues such as Fraser River
and Estuary Management, Major Land Use and Resource Conflicts, energy
Policies-Uranium Mining and Nuclear Installations.

Sponsors for the meeting include: The Sierra Club, The Vancouver
Natural History Society, The Federation of B.C. Naturalists, SPEC,
Community Forum on Airport Development, United Fishermen and Allied
Worker's Union, The British Columbia Wildlife Federation, Citizen's
for Delta, The Steelhead Society of British Columbia, The Institute
of Environmental Studies at Douglas College, The Richmond Anti-
Pollution Association and the Greenpeace Foundation.
