DOUGLAS COLLEGE nivke nhac wkas ยป TO: ALL PERSONNEL DATE: 26 November 1975 FROM: THE SAFETY COMMITTEE RE: First Aid Facilities In response to concerned students, faculty, staff, and WCB regulations, the Safety Committee is endeavouring to up-grade and generally ensure adequate first-aid facilities on campus. First Aid regulations as outlined in WCB pamphlets pose some problems considering the temporary nature of most buildings on campus. The plans for a permanent structure at Richmond Campus have incorporated in them adequate first-aid facilities, but at the present moment, the Safety Committee is making representation to the Administration to provide facilities which conform as closely as possible to the model layed out in the WCB regulations. This states that the College comes under the heading of a Class C institution which requires a first-aid attendant with an Industrial First-Aid Certificate and a First-Aid Room which must be used for no other purpose other than to administer first-aid. We are fortunate that all three campuses are less that 15 minutes from emergency hospitalization services. The need for adequate first-aid facilities are of importance to the College Community as a whole and where the implementation of first-aid facilities may disrupt some existing arrangements, we are sure that staff and faculty will appreciate the wider needs of the entire college.
