Gert Van Niekerk has pulled another winning golf team out of the woodwork here at Douglas as they travelled to Kamloops on Oct. 12 - 14 and brought home silver place medals. Benefit Hockey Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull were big hits as they visited our Campus last Monday afternoon. Autograph seekers vied with T.V. cameras and sportSreporters for a chance to meet and talk to these gentlemen who some consider to be two of North America's greatest hockey players ever. Both Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe (who were described to me by one woman on campus as middle-aged perfect 10's) emphasized they were "getting on in years" and probably lacked staying power in comparison with the 20 year olds, whom they were about to join on the ice. Both Paul and Jamie were terrific in goal, and "the great one", Gordie Howe, had many compliments for members of our team. Added attractions of the evening featured Gary Monahan,"the Voice of the Canucks" and Paul Shmyr, who joined Gordie and Bobby here at Douglas for the Press Reception and
