On the evening of December 16 the Fraser River Harbour Commis- sion gave a reception for the offical “launching” of the book. It was a splen- did affair, attended by a number of dignitaries including the mayors of surrounding municipalities and New Westminster. If you are a member of the college pen- sion plan, there is no change for the 1986 tax year...the maximum is $3,500, minus contributions to the college pension plan. If you are not a member of the plan, the rule is 20% of earned income to a maximum of $7,500 in both 1986 and 1987. Until this tax year, the maximum has been $5,500. Major changes will occur for the 1988 tax year, leading to a maximum of $15,000 by 1991, in both in- stances...stay tuned.
