FOX has the two most popular sitcom families on TV today; funny thing is they’re both cartoon families. But which
one is tops: The Simpsons or Family Guy?

 

aie The Simpsons was hilarious, but that was like TEN YEARS AGO! Come
on, cancel this show already! If it were a racehorse they would have put it out to
pasture by now.

As Homer once said, the two most beautiful words in the English language
are De and Fault. Unfortunately, these words now come back to bite the show in
the ass. As the years pass by, more and more animated sitcoms beat The Simpsons.
What was once a masterpiece is now merely a joke.

Sure, in a battle between Family Guy’s first few years versus The Simpson’s
first eight years, The Simpsons would win hands down, but there is only so many
times Sideshow Bob can try to kill Bart, or so many times Homer can do something

 

stupid. At some point, it just becomes pathetic.

The Simpsons is especially weak in the day of TV DVDs, where if all one
wants to do is reminisce about a particular show instead of watching new cheesy
episodes they can fork out a small amount of money to enjoy the pure gold episodes
multiple times. That’s what Wendy won’t admit. Yeah, there is more tact to The
Simpsons but who cares if it’s at the expense of the humour? Not me.

So, why is Family Guy funnier? The show wins simply because its brand of
humour was the first and while it too is beginning to become repetitive and boring,
it’s not nearly at the same place as The Simpsons yet. There are still some genius
moments there on Seth MacFarlane’s part. Like when he spends the entire 100"
Episode allowing the people who hate Family Guy an opportunity to trash the show.
