Centre 2000 does Black Tie and Sneakers op hats and high-tops were the order of the day recently as Centre 2000 handed out its annual “Black Tie and Sneakers” Awards. The awards, presented at a light-hearted ceremony June 28, recognize special contributions made by employees and community partners to Douglas College’s contracted services arm. Black Tie Awards, for those who showed innovation and commitment in community partnerships with Centre 2000, were given to: ¢ Vickie Renner and staff at the New Westminster Community Skills Centre, for their work with contract training service delivery, small business development, financial forums, and the Community Access Project. ¢ Werner Schulz, Burnaby Skills Centre, for contributions to the Resource Guide for Managing Sucessful Employee Transition. * Alan Cadwell, University College of the Fraser Valley, for contributions to the Resource Guide. ¢ Frances Deverell, Abrahmson Deverell & Associates, for contributions to the Resource Guide. * Bob McKonkey and Frank Pearson, Ministry of Education, Skills and Training, for contributions to the Resource Guide. ¢ Katharine Dauphinee, for contributions to the Resource Guide. ¢ Kwantlen University College, for contributions to the Resource Guide. * Langara College, for contributions to the Resource Guide. * Colleen Rudy, Capilano College, for contributions to the Resource Guide. ¢ Shelby Thiessen, for work with the Surrey Local Review Committee and the Self-Employment Assistance Program. ¢ Randy Bruce and Catherine Maydan, Kwantlen University College, for delivery of the National Technical University Advanced Management of Technology Programs. ¢ John Mabbot and Brad Teeter, Health Care Labour Adjustment Agency, for delivery of Health Care Adjustment Services.
