douglas colege President resigns; College plans for transition ollowing the June resignation of its president, Douglas College has entered an important period of change. “We thank Susan Hunter-Harvey for her efforts and vision, and recognize that there will be a period of adjustment for all of us,” says Board Chair Bob Buzza. “Now we must look after the College’s immediate needs, and prepare for the coming year.” In a memorandum prepared for the College Board, Vice-Chair Neal Nicholson identified three tasks faced by the Board and College community: 1. The immediate filling of the vacant office of President, with the Vice- Presidents filling the position of Acting President on a rotating basis up to September 15, 1996; . The definition of the process and timelines leading to the appointment of an interim President for a term of up to one year; and 3. The definition of the process and timelines leading to the appointment of a new President. To address the first task, John McKendry, VP Instruction, will serve as Acting President until July 7. Educational Services VP Al Atkinson will take over the role until August 4, when Finance and Administration VP Peter Greenwood will step in until August 25.
