Campus Advertising Regulations The March 28 edition of the Mad Hatter con- tained regulations governing campus adver- tising. They are repeated below for ref- erence: 1. All postings are to be restricted to specified areas and bulletin boards. 2. Ultimate responsibility for control of bulletin boards rests with the Physical Plant and Site Services Department but will be shared with College Departments or groups. Control may be delegated to the Department responsible. 3. All posters, flyers, etc., must be date stamped and approved by the Department responsible. 4. Posting will normally be approved for a maximum of thirty (30) days. 5. Commercial advertising will be accepted only if prepared as a special offer, specifically addressed to Douglas Col- lege students and employees and only after advertising has been purchased in the student newspaper. Once the installation of bulletin boards throughout the facility is completed, all notices not located on appropriate boards will be removed. It is our intention to delegate responsi- bility as follows: a. All public notice boards, identified by nunber, will be controlled by the Stu- dent Society. b. Notice boards, reserved for the use of specific departments or field base areas will be controlled by the faculty/staff in those areas. The Student Society recently appealed to Management Committee for assistance in one aspect of these regulations. I am there- fore adding a further regulation: 6. All personnel who post notices are re- quired to remove them within 24 hours Mad Hatter Page 2 following the event. Your cooperation in complying with this reg- ulation would be appreciated, as we do not have the personnel to keep the bulletin boards current, and the Student Society is finding the volume too heavy to handle. The regulation applies to building entry ways, eg. parking level stairwells and el- evators, as well as bulletin boards.
