who have not purchased textbooks may
do so at the Surrey campus bookstore

Faculty Names in College Callendar

The College has dropped sexist
designations such as Mr., Mrs. and Ms.
from the calendar, leaving the surnames
followed by the christian (whoops -a
religious phrase which should be sur-
planted by "given" names).

Diplomas and degrees are listed
followed by the name of the
institution. Universities are given,
but the word "University" is omitted.
In the case of Colleges, the full

name of the College is given. Because
there ha¥&been so many name changes,

we attempt to give the very latest
names of the institution from which

the degree was granted, notwithstanding
that when the degree is granted, anothe
name may appear on a transcript or the
diploma. For example, two years ago,
one institution was "California State
College at San Jose." Last year, it
was"California State University at

San Jose" - this year, it is "San

Jose State University".

Illustrious graduates of Cambridge
(Cantab), Oxford (Oxon) and Durham
(Dunelm) will continue to have the
name of the institution veiled in a
dead language,

Anyone who wishes to comment on the
galley proofs which have been submitted
to each department should do so

directly to Eloise Lincicum. If you
miss it on the galley proof and spot

an error in the calendar, please report
it to Eloise because we can make

a change for it next year.
