The BCYSA's provincial all-star team program - which has been recognized as
one of the best ongoing feeder systems for the various national teams - has
assisted in the skill development and overall growth of many past and present
Canadian-born professional players - many of whom were selected to the World

Cup squad Waiters' chose for Mexico.

The Douglas College Sports Institute is a concept designed to provide
assistance to volunteer workers in the Douglas College community. It
focuses, through administrator and teacher Chris Johnson, on development
courses and programs that help upgrade an individuals theoretical and

practical knowledge of sports and recreational activities.

Waiters, who is presently serving as honorary president of the Vancouver '86rs,

the new Vancouver entry in the new Canadian Soccer League, will use video

 

tape of Canada's World Cup gamesas a vehicle to present his views on oO
coaching philosophy, technique, and motivation, and how they can be applied
at the local level.
