The men’s basketball team ~con- tinues to prgvide exciting, win- . ning basketball. The Royals had a full schedule this past weekend. On Friday they took on V.C.C. and came away with an 85-65 win. Top point- getters for the Royals were Randy Stephens with 22 points and Glen Cote with 18 points. February 14 handed the Royals some easy valentines points. The expected visitors, the Capilano ey ’ Other boos Royal performance Blues, failed to show up, thereby defaulting and upping the Royals’ win-loss record from 10-0 to 11-0. It may not end there for the Capilano. Blues. Constitutionally, both teams are obligated to show up and the Blues may now be subject to probationary measures. Sunday’s game provided an ex- tra bit of excitement. The Royals took on the Cariboo Chiefs in a game that went into overtime. The Royals emerged the victors with a 74-68 final score. Royal stalwarts Randy Stephens and Glen Cote again came up with top points for their team. Stephens finished with 19 points on the night while Cote picked up 15 points and 12 rebounds. Hockey half and half The Douglas College men’s hockey team cruised on up to Powell River last weekend for two exhibition games against the Powell River Sr. A’s. The Royals managed to stay afloat the first game, losing out 7-4 but were blown out of the rink the next day with a devastating 13-2 loss at the hands of the Sr. A’s.
