Holiday music will fill the air and refreshments will be served ... who knows, maybe OI’ St. Nick will even drop by for a visit. Everyone who donates to the Toy Bank will have their name placed in a draw for two tickets to the Vancouver Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls game on January 28. ve Trim a Tree, Help a School Last May, Geography’s Liz Peerless visited Karanga Primary School in Moshi, Tanzania. The school has only seven small classrooms—most with mud floors, and none with ceilings or doors—for 500 children. There is no electricity, running water, telephone or even a typewriter. Local parents are very capable of performing building and painting jobs, but there is no money to buy the necessary materials. Thanks to a group organized by Liz, this month you can be part of the effort to help them to buy wood, paint, and cement. From December 2 to 13, please buy a decoration to hang on a tree in the concourse. Money collected from tree decorations will be sent to Karanga Primary School. To find out more about this project or to make a donation, call Liz Peerless at local 5306. You can also contact Colleen Brown (5508), Terry Farrell (5202), Linda Hayward (5599), Dave Neilson (5249), Earl Noah (5313) or Susan Smythe (5566). xa Cashier’s Note The Cashier’s Department reminds all staff who are making deposits needing receipts to do so before 9:30 am. Note: You must have the cost code associated with the deposit along with the project name. Please also remember that no second party cheques will be cashed. xa Holiday Hampers Vye Flindall in Financial Services passes along thanks to everyone now filling their seasonal hampers with food and gifts.
