If you think the Internet might be the source to search for fast-breaking news, you're right. But before you abandon your regular media forever, remember that news is only as reliable as the source. Here are some of my regular sites for calming that breathless feeling. GLOBEnet http://www. globeandmail.ca/ If your daily commute is too brief to let you read through an entire newspaper, you can still get your daily dose of Canadian news and opinions in the online edition of the Globe and Mail. Even scanning through the blurbs on the front page will keep you up to date. This site has gone through a couple of transformations since its launch, and has gotten better each time. I get my daily dose of trivia from Social Studies. ‘a 17 a to the 1997 Fortfolio Show of the Print Futures Professional Writing Program CNN Interactive http://cnn.com/ A simple layout and the handy menu bar at the side (without frames!) let you surf quickly to your area of interest. Frequent updates mean this site almost always has the hottest international, American and entertainment news. This is where J start when the craving for immediate info strikes. CRAYON (CReAte Your Own Newspaper) http://crayon.net/ If you like to have control over your environment, then CRAYON is for you. Fill out the form to customize the news you want to read, give your publication a name and a motto, then use your web browser to return everyday to your own individual URL and read your paper. It’s that easy. They suggest you protect your choices with a password so no one else can change your paper, so remember to write it down somewhere, maybe the place you keep your dozen or so other passwords. ff You’re invited Thursday April 10, 1997 4-—6pm Douglas Room New Westminster Campus Everyone is welcome!
