rn JAZZ BAND Good music and entertainment are what the Douglas College Jazz Band provides, and at the enticing price of "no admis- sion charge" they are good value for your entertainment budget. The band, which will be directed by Blair Fisher, featuring Roy Reynolds on Tenor Sax, can be heard on Thursday, April 15, 8:00 p.m. at the Vincent Massey Auditorium (8th Street & 8th Avenue, New Westminster). Roy Reynolds, originally from Birming- ham, England, toured as a featured soloist with the Stan Kenton Orchestra throughout the world for seven years. The concert will include a number of selections from the Kenton library, as well as featuring Reynolds and the Douglas College Jazz Band on music from the bands of Buddy Rich, Woody | Herman, Count Basie, and Duke Elling- 4 ton. All jazz lovers are welcome to sit back, relax and enjoy an evening of "all that jazz". JOINT CONCERT BAND AND CHOIR Douglas College will be presenting an evening of music, which is both soothing to the ear and the pocket. On Friday, April 16, 8:00 p.m. in the Vincent Massey Auditorium (8th Street & 8th Avenue, New Westminster) the Douglas College Concert Band and Concert Choir will be holding a joint concert. This free evening of music and song, directed by Blair Fisher and Marvin Regier, will include the Choir's per- formance of Spirituals, Folk Songs and selections from the Liebeslieder Waltzes by Johannes Brahms. And from the Con- cert Band, a variety of music by Bach, McBeth and Kabalevsky will be heard. The Band and Choir will join together for selections by Bruckner and Gershwin.
