Each year, the staff of Children's cares for children from over 200 communities in B.C. Through the generous support of you and others like you, we are able to provide extensive, highly sophisticated facilities to diagnose, treat and study children with a variety of disorders including cancer, cardiac, kidney, metabolic, neurological and phsychiatric problems. Our special care nursery, one of the largest in the country, enables us to give the professional attention and care needed by pre-mature and seriously il] newborns. The Children's Variety Research Centre, located adjacent to the hospital, will officially open in September 1985. The centre will be devoted exclusively to the investigation of illnesses that affect the young and will provide laboratory space needed by investigators to seek answers to the causes of children's deseases. To protect the health of B.C.'s children is our main concern and we are very grateful for the support you have given to assist us in attaining our goals.
