The areas of specialization should include: advertising, gender and media, and media theory. The successful applicant will be expected to teach under- graduate courses in media that ad- dress such issues as: advertising as social communication, cultural dimensions of advertising, the so- cial construction of gender in the media, television analysis and media theory. The Department has a large un- dergraduate program, and also of- fers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
