The following films are now available for loan from
the Douglas College Library:

SHE'S A RAILROADER - This film is about a woman who works on
the railroad, and is an optimistic look at how well she manages
in a traditionally male field. Karen Zaitchik is 21 years old
and has worked for CN as a yardman-trainman for three years.

She applied for any kind of outdoor job that might be available.
Her first position was in a switching training program. This
film is intended to show women that there are definite alter-
natives to office jobs. LOomin. = 1978

PRETEND YOU'RE WEARING A BARREL - Lynn Ryan was, at 35, an
unemployed single parent and the outlook for getting off welfare
was bleak. On the advice of an employment counsellor, she en-
rolled in a welding course. After completing ten months of
classes and several months of job hunting, Lynn found a position
as an apprentice engineer. She welds, does maintenance work on
boats and vehicles and serves as a courier, picking up supplies
and delivering shipments. The film shows how an individual can
take practical steps to take control of her life. 10 min. 1978

Classes will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-7:00

ID 102 - The Elements of Instruction, may take ID 104. For fur-
