Appointments

Education Minster Brian Smith has
announced reappointments to the
Academic Council and the Occupational
Training Council.

Dr. Ian McTaggart Cowan of Victoria
has been reappointed chairman of the
Academic Council for a six-month term
commencing Feb. 1, 1981.

Also reappointed to the Academic Council
was Jean Turnbull, vice-chairman, of
Trail.

Saul M. Rothman of Surrey has been re-
appointed as chairman of the Occupa-
tional Training Council for a two-year
term commencing Feb. 1, 1981

Board Appointments Announced for Lower
Mainland and Fraser Valley Colleges.

Reappointed to interim terms on the
Douglas College board ending March 31,
1981, were Stewart J. Graham, retired
school superintendent from Burnaby;
William R, Emerton, a partner in the
firm of Touche Ross & Company in New
Westminster; Gerald T. Trerise, manager
of Evergreen Tours Ltd., Vancouver;
John H Sutherland, a retired teacher
from Tsawwassen; Fred Gingell of Delta,
executive vice-president of Mohawk Oil,
and Jean Hodgins, Vancouver homemaker
and music teacher.

New boards for both Douglas and B.C.'s
newest college, Kwantlen, will be

appointed as of Apr. 1, 1981 when
the two colleges separate to serve
the four school districts north of
the Fraser River and the four school
districts south of the river
