MAD HATTER 4 PAT ON THE BACK FOR OK COLLEGE B.C. Research, an independent ag- ency of the B.C. Research Council, reports that Okanagan College has sent more successful students per capita on to university than other community colleges in the system. The Ministry of Advanced Education and Job Training commissioned reports on university articulation in the past academic year, and on university degree completion between 1977 and 1984. Both reports suggest that Okanagan College students go to university well-prepared. Reporting on 1985-86, B.C. Research says “Okanagan College has the best overall record of any individual college for college transfers with one year credit.” Most Okanagan College students chose to attend UBC or UVIC upon transfer. Between 1977 and 1984, “Okanagan College consistently had the highest rates of (degree) completion at UBC or UVIC of any individual college”, for students transferring after one year. “For College Transfers with two years credit, Cariboo, Okanagan, Capilano and Douglas had the highest comple- tion rates at UBC, and Okanagan had the highest rates at UVIC.” Taken from the Capital News, Kelowna, 8.C., January 31, 1987 NAME CHANGE Please note that Jan Carruthers, Coordinator of the Long Term Care Aide Program will forthwith be known as Jan Greenhow.
