THE MAD HATTER’ ‘ A Douglas College Newsletter Published weekly during the spring and fall semesters, bi-monthly in the summer semester by * Douglas College Technical . and Vocational Institute P.O. Box 2503, New Westminster, B.C. Editor: Melanie Falcon Telephone: 588-4411, Local 283 Notice Board FROM: College-wide Professional Development Committee Your department representatives have polled faculty and there is consensus that faculty object to interruption of the semester for Professional Development. We feel that May Professional Development should be expanded rather than dividing up our efforts in planning days at various times in the year. If you have a position on mid-semester days, please write it and submit to the committee. Management Committee is not yet convinced and more faculty input may be needed to support the Professional Development Com- mittee's position. The committee is planning no mid-semester days for this Spring. If you wish to complete review of committee activities, please see your departmental representative or see the Faculty Association newsletter, Christmas 1978 issue.
