SPORTS EVENTS INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL Richmond Campus Downs Surrey at Forum Thursday Richmond mauled Surrey rather badly at Sea Island Forum, Thursday noon in the first of three intramural encounters slated. Bob Turenne relates that a co-ed group of Richmondites walloped Surrey men by some 35 points. The next meeting is at the Arenex 12 - 2 Thursday, February 14th. All three campuses (staff, faculty and students are invited). Robin Ryan Rugby Team Invited to U.S. Tournament Totem Conference rugby champions Douglas College have been invited to compete in a 32 team tournament in San Francisco on April 26th. 27th and 28th. Of these 32 teams 3 will be coming from the British Isles, so the calibre of rugby should be extremely high. The Douglas team will be playing 7 or 8 exhibition games before going down to the tournament. The team is practicing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7 - 9 p.m. at Queens Park. Soccer Team Gets Invite to U.S. Tournament The Douglas College soccer team has been -nvited to compete in a top flight soccer tournament aponsored by the University of Jregon on April 6th and 7th. The team will be n top class company as other teams invited clude Oregon State University, the University »f Washington and the University of California. fowever, coach Gert van Niekerk feels that if he could field his strongest team, they shoul be in with a chance. Players he hopes to choose the team from are B. C. Summer Games gold medallist Darryl Wallace, Mike McLenagha Mark McQueen, Keith McKenzie, Frank Dunham, Jim Coplin, Bruce Dugdale, Ginno Nonni, John Savoie, Glen Whittington, Rob Popp, Steve Hyn Don Thompson, Rick Schaaf, Lloyd Kennedy, Gary Thurmath, Dan Schofield, Bruce Young, Andy Winterhoff, Ian Cameron, Steve Wylie, Ji Greenwood and Dave Jagger.
