The lone first-half goal came when Capilano’s Diana Artuso beat Royals keeper Erin Hohlbein. The second half was all Capilano, which added three more goals by Melissa Artuso, Sheri Turnowski and Lynn Westerman. In the bronze medal game against host UCFV, the Royals prevailed, winning 2-0 on the strength of goals by Lynsey Burkinshaw and Erica Mendez, and shutout goalkeeping from Hohlbein. Royal Lynsey Burkinshaw was named best midfielder for the tournament. Golf The Douglas College golf team took on UBC for the Bill Day Cup Nov 2-3. In singles matches over 36 holes, Douglas College winners were Jarrod Boddy, Roger Gihespy and Kurt Dalphgond. In doubles matches UBC prevailed three matches to one, so the Cup stays at UBC until next time.
