Matchette and Sieben rejoin board Faith Matchette of Surrey and Gerald Sieben of Port Coquitlam have been named to the Douglas College Board. Matchette has worked for the City of New Westminster since 1975 in various clerical and administrative capacities. Sieben is principal of Kwayhquitlum middle school in Port Coquitlam. Both have previously served with the board and their current appointments end on July 31, 1996. The Ministry of Skills, Training and Labour also announced that Thomas Crawshaw of Port Coquitlam was reappointed to the board for a term ending July 31, 1997. Burnaby’s Marilyn Rushton and Grace Joe, Christine Oliver of Maple Ridge and Robert Buzza of New Westminster were reappointed to terms ending July 31, 1998. Appointed members still serving their current terms are Karin Henderson, Neal Nicholson and Howard Smith. Elected members serving are Anne Fenton (staff), Shirley McKinley (faculty), Ken Gracey (student). An election to fill the second student position is expected in late September. The College’s president and chair of the Education Council are both ex-officio board members.
