~ DAVID WATMOUGH Tuespay, 19 Marcu 1974 _ 7:30 To 9:30 PM -- ew West 4-room COMPLEX David Watmough will be giving two of hts monodramas (reminiscences of his childhood in Cornwall) Tuesday, L9 March tn the four-room complex New Westminster Campus from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mr. Watmough has just completed a series of performances at City Stage (Vancouver) and has recently returned from a tour of New York, London, and Germany. He will read "Fathers and Sons" and Cousin Petherick and the Will", These two monodramas demonstrate David Watmough's ability to capture both mood of childhood and the brusque Cornish characters and dialect. Though monodrama is his personal mode of expression, one tnevitably compares his vigor and success at capturing a unique dialectal group with Dylan Thomas; while the narrative bridge he builds between Cornwall and British Columbia is reminiscent of Malcolm Lowry. Mr. Watmough has become one of Vancouver's best known writers and his performances make one realize how exciting story telling ean be. There will be a discusston wtth David Watmough following the performance. EVERYOWE IS WELCOME a Lanny At kT iO ADIISSIOi CHARGE poUchAs ” sores DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND COMMUNICATIONS JOUGLAS COLLEGE
