Changes made to registration system Changes to Douglas College’s registration system will make it more fair, says Registrar Trish Angus. “Many constituencies, internal- ly and externally, expressed dissatisfaction with the current system. Faculty were concerned because they saw new good stu- dents unable to get into classes, and students who performed poor- ly or had taken a course two or three times were taking up spaces,” says Angus. Like most other community college newsletters, INSIDE Douglas College will begin publishing monthly with its next issue, instead of every two weeks as in the past. Public Information Officer Brad Barber says the change was adopted as a money-saving measure by the Public “Due to budget constraints and consequent cost-cutting measures, we're going to a monthly publication,” says Barber. “While INSIDE Douglas College may now be less timely, we’re working hard to make the newsletter more useful and interesting for all employees at Douglas | College.
