The grant, to be received over a three-year period, will be used to establish the Labatt Breweries’ ath- letic endowment fund, said Randi . Duke, executive director of the Douglas College Foundation. Interest income from the en- dowment will be used to support the College’s varsity teams and to co-sponsor an annual Labatt’s coaching seminar, featuring out- standing speakers from the coach- ing world. “Tt will benefit the College’s varsity teams through training, equipment, and coaching,” Duke explained. “With it we will be able to bring in world-class coaching.” Varsity teams destined to benefit from the donation include Douglas College's first-class men’s basketball, volleyball, and wres- tling teams - all winners of provin- cial championship competitions.
