The men’s team, which has caused Coach Beauchamp many a sleepless night, may be putting it all together. The Royals won their last three games, defeating BCIT (99-44), Fraser Valley College (84-61), and Pacific Lutheran University JV’s (113- 76). Glen Cote was high scorer in each game, with 18, 22, and 18 points respectively. Tracey Holloman picked up 18 points against BCIT, Wayne Johnson 17 against Fraser Valley, and Phil Tapley 17 at Pacific Lutheran. Best of luck, guys!! WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The women still have a secure hold on first spot in the league, with a 78-56 win over Fraser Valley. Ethel Atte scored 27 points to lead the Royals to vic- tory. MEN’S VOLLEYBALL: The men were 2-1] at the VCC tour- nament this past weekend, making them third overall in the league. Results of Tournament #3 at VCC, Sat., Jan. 28: Douglas vs. Malaspina, final score: 2-0 for Douglas (15-8, 15-6) Douglas vs. Cariboo, final score: 2-0 for Douglas (15-4, 15-12) Douglas vs. VCC, final score: 2-0 for VCC (5-15, 14-16) WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL: Tournament at Douglas College, Saturday, January 28. First year player Sue Sharp led the squad with 16 kills and 12 blocks over the three matches, while Gab Boratto had 10 kills. The Douglas women showed a lot of character in coming back from 12-6 and 11-1 deficits to beat Capilano College by scores of 15-13, and 15-13. The team is slowly gaining momentum to challenge for one of the two spots awarded B.C. at the C.C.A.A. Nationals, to be held in Edmonton in March. Next action is on February 11 at Cariboo College in Kamloops. Results of the Jan. 28 tournament are as follows: Douglas vs. Capilano: Game 1, 15-13 for Douglas; Game 2, 15-13 for Douglas. Douglas vs. Cariboo: Game 1, 15-5 for Douglas; Game 2, 15-12 for Cariboo; Game 3, 15-8 for Douglas. Douglas vs. CBC: Game 1, 15-8 for Douglas; Game 2, 15-7 for Douglas. These three victories now put Douglas in 3rd place in league standings. ee INTRAMURALS: Registra- tion for floor hockey has been extremely high this semester, and since we can only accom- modate 20 teams, three teams will not be able to play. Fifteen individuals have also registered and we will put them on a draft list for the other teams. Should be a good league! Volleyball and badminton have not had quite the same response, although if you know of people who want to play at either ac- tivity, we will set the nets up on Tuesdays, from noon to 2:00 pm.
