Curt’s parents separated when he was young and to get attention he stole violins from school. Roland who was also depres- sed read Arthur Janov’s ‘primal scream-.and recommended it to Curt. After being in several failed bands, they formed Tears for Fears and released their first single (Suffer the Children) in 1982. The following year an album appeared called ‘The Hurt- ing’ featuring re-worked versions of Sutter the Children, Change and Mad World. The record produced three top 10 hits and the record knocked : ‘Michael Jackson out of the number : one spot in the UK. Curt and Roland: claim that ‘The Hurting’ was a.clinical : record to get ‘‘things off their: chests’’. Viewing a cat’s life either makes: one envious or sympathetic for the: furry feline. In ‘‘Under the Table: Manners’’, one of the 29 or so short: vingettes, Caroline Heisler switches: the audience into the sympathy mode: by taking us from the table where: people shove mass quantities of food: into their bellies via the mouth, down, : down, down to the floor onto the mat: where cat is waiting for a morsel to: fall. (My cats are not this well: behaved). Not only do cats ‘‘sleep fat : and walk thin’’ but my “‘hairball’’ is: that fact that cats know ‘The Mean-: ing of Zen’’ (Andrea Schober).
