that a synthesis or common ground can emerge. A living philosophy
would be the result. Chairpersons, directors, deans, conveners
should be told that each meeting should devote (devotion) some

time to that process. These same people should get some training
on how to facillitate such a process. Another suggesion with the
same result in mind: have a P.D. week in May devoted to those ends.
We are drifting. Concerted effort is the only thing that will

change our direction.
