College Briefs continued on we oe Ruth Gilliatt retires The Health Sciences Department and the General Nursing Program will greatly miss Ruth Gilliatt who is retiring from the College after 17 years here. She was a founding faculty member helping to implement the new program in the fall of 1976. She has taught in class- room, laboratory and clinical settings, and has served on numerous committees. She has provided excellent leadership within the program as a semester Team leader. Ruth has always been highly praised by students as a Master Teacher. She has served as a role model for other instructors over the years. One request the faculty made of Ruth before she retired was that she make a videotape of her class on Fluid and Electrolytes to serve as a resource and example to others. At the end of the fall 1992 semester, the Health Sciences faculty surprised Ruth by having her brought to the College by horse and buggy. This was a wonderful event and it cer- tainly created a stir on the streets of New Westminster! Ruth will be moving to Vancouver Island with her husband Gerry. Our best wishes go to them. We will always remember the way she has enriched our lives.
