DOUGLAS COLLEGE SPORTS RESULTS | ARCHIVES RUGBY The Douglas third division team is in first place in its league with 3 victories and no losses so far. The victories were over Burnaby (34-4), Langley (8-3) and Richmond (6-3). In Totem Conference inter-collegiate play, Dougals now has a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. In its last two outings Douglas defeated V.C.C. 17-3 and lost 6-4 to league leader B.C.I.T. Particularly impressive for Douglas this year have been: Damian Tyell, Gord Berndt, Gord Santaga, Alex Fond and Jim Zociak. Newcomers are still welcome. Practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Queens Park, New Westminster. VOLLEYBALL The College mens and women$ volleyball teams are practicing at Queens Park, in the Arenex, on Mondays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. Both teams have showed impressive form in informal exhibition matches, but the real test comes November 15, when they open the season against Columbia Bible Institute. Newcomers are still welcome, even if they are unable to make all practices. Additional practices will be scheduled. WOMENS FIELD HOCKEY The Douglas College womens field hockey team is now practicing at Queens Park, in New Westminster, on Mondays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. The team has a record of 2 wins and 2 losses so far. Newcomers are still welcome, either by showing up at practice, or by phoning coach Henry Thompson at 876-6639. MEN AND WOMENS BASKETBALL Both the basketball teams still need players. Practices are held: Men - Monday and Wednesday, 5 - 7 p.m., Winslow Campus; Tuesdays, 5- 6:30 p.m., Arenex, Queens Park and Women - Tuesday and Thursday, 5 - 7 p.m., Winslow Campus; Wednesday, 5 - 6:30 p.m., Arenex, Queens Park. The mens team traveled to Nanaimo November 2 to take on Malaspina College. Playing on these teams will provide participants with opportunities for fun and relaxation, and the opportunity to meet students from other campuses, colleges and provinces. BADMINTON Douglas College has traditionally been very strong in badminton, and based on performances at practices so far, this year seems to to no exception.
