lfFE ana SLYIE Dress for the chest: Holiday wear for the big busted By Sharon Miki e’re so close to the end of academic stress (for this semester at least) and as such it’s time to put away any remnants of comfy cozy “exam-week wear” and get dressed up. If, like me, you’re chestically well-endowed, you might feel a surge of nerves at the prospect of squeezing your frontal regions into one of the sparkling, strapless holiday frocks taunting you from store windows. Still, have no fear large-chested ladies: if you know how to shop with a bit of a strategy you and your breasts will be perfectly pretty and on- trend this holiday season. One disclaimer: no matter what style you choose, make sure you can wear a bra. I’m not judging—I too have tried a variety of contraptions to try to squeeze myself into strapless or spaghetti-strapped numbers. Inevitably though, you more often then no end up with a weird bread- loaf-like appendage under your chin and will spend the night tugging and being generally uncomfortable. Not worth it. Here are some better options: Fake the strapless look Large-chested girls need support, but why shouldn’t we be able to enjoy delicate sweetheart necklines? This year there are a variety of dresses with strapless-like construction, but with sheer lace, mesh or chiffon panels from chest-line to neckline. Try a sleek sleeveless, sweetheart and mesh number that lets you show off your upper curves without being overly exposed. Full-Coverage LBD with a Twist Everyone knows that a little black dress is the go-to for any festive occasion. Yet, for the bodacious not wanting to risk anything too low cut, a plain black dress can verge on boring. Consider a flattering, full- coverage cocktail style with an unusual detail for an easy yet chic look. Go Short Does your fantastic décolletage usually get all the glory? Give your legs a change to shine with a shorter hemline. There’s no better time than the holidays to rock a bold metallic look, and this year there are lots of flattering boat and high necked dresses with high hems. If You’re Going to Show Them Off, Display Them Properly If you’ ve got it, flaunt it, just do it with some subtlety so that you can post the pictures on Facebook without worrying about your boss stumbling upon anything too risqué. Try a well-fit (nothing should pop out or dig in) V-neck in a festive print or sea-toned solid.
