The 4-West Championships are playoffs be- tween winners from B.C., Alberta, Saskat- chewan and Manitoba to determine the Western Canadian Junior Colleges champ- ion. It was hoped this year to also have a playoff between the Western and Eastern Canadian champions, but inad- equate funds have cancelled out this possibility. However, Sports Canada has indicated that money might be forth- coming next year for these National Playoffs. At B.Gol. =. on Priday the Douglas girls won their first match easily defeating B.C.I.T. 15 - 6, see In their second match against Malaspina College they started off on a shaky note dropping the first game 16 - 18. But they came back to win the next two games 15 11, 15 - 8 and the match. From this point on the girls did not lose a game and beat pre-tourney favourites Vancouver City College 15 - 13, 15 - 7, in the final.
