Wendy Keenlyside OOPS! Have you ever had one of those years? The Mad Hatter seems to be having one...at least when it comes to printing articles or information on the Douglas College Foundation. In fact, if the Foundation were to receive a dollar for every error, typo or misspelling that has occurred, it wouldn't have to raise $50,000. Two weeks ago, the Mad Hatter mis- spelled the Foundation campaign co- chairs’ names. Last week, we spelt them correctly in a cutline under their picture, unfortunately we transposed their names. Correct spellings of names areattached to the right person above. A tip of the hat and an apology to them. And while we're on the subject of’Building Success” and the work of the Foundation, Mae Burrows must have had a heart attack after reading last week's Mad Hatter. The Founda- tion did give her a grant for producing the rock video, but it wasn't for $4500, it was for $500. MONEY ** MONEY Don't forget your R.R.S.P. Current rules are as follows. If you are a member of the college pen- sion plan, there is no change for the 1986 tax year...the maximum is $3,500 minus contributions to the college pension plan. If you are not a member of the plan, the rule is 20% of earned income to a maximum of $7,500 in both 1986 and 1987. Until this tax year, the maximum has been $5,500. Major changes will occur for the 1988 tax year, leading to a maximum of $15,500 by 1991, in both in- stances...stay tuned. Proposed legislation allows for a seven-year carry-forward _ period, allowing you to contribute later, if un- _able to do so during any one tax year. | Murray Leslie Department of Commerce and Business Administration CLOSURE OF LOWER CAFETERIA The Lower Cafeteria will be closed for February 25 & 26, 1987 to accommo- date a booking taken prior to the open- ing of the Lower Cofeteria for daily service.
