INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / November 26, 1991 Coquitlam Corner The search continues for suitable space for the Coquitlam precursor (temporary campus) site. Class- room and office space, room for support services, amenity space and parking head the list of re- quirements. The search is focused in the Coquitlam Town Centre to get us as close as possible to the permanent site. Preliminary discussions with ar- chitects and planners have been held to test our ideas about invol- vement of college personnel in the planning process for the permanent campus. They have confirmed that we are on the right track and that our timelines, while tight, are realistic. The Educational and Student Services Division management committee has Coquitlam plan- ning as a standing item for its agenda, and has planned a half- day workshop for Dec. 12 to review all department plans to date. The day will be also used to identify interdepartmental plan- ning needs. Planning for this division is, to some extent, driven by the educational programs planned by the other divisions. The Academic Division has established a Coquitlam Planning Task Force, which meets bi-week- ly. That group has made recom- mendations to be included in the Master Education Plan, and will consider recommendations on the Coquitlam precursor for September 1992. The Community Programs & Services Division has taken the op- portunity provided by the Master Education Plan exercise and Co- quitlam Development to integrate an update on the division’s 3 year plan and their internal human resource development activities of recent months. @ | | | | | Christmas Party ao Sat.
