eae ee - DOUGLAS COLLEGE ARCHIVES Mad Hatter Page 7 To All Pevaoktel 7 | For the past 10 months, the governance ‘| system has been dealing with the question of Self Funded Credit courses. In December, the Education & Services sub- committee of the College Board heard the presentations of both EPPCO and the admini- | stration. | j Following that meeting, the senior admini- | stration was directed to do further study of | the issue. In doing its analysis, the administration reviewed concerns expressed | by the Board, the position of the Educational! Policy & Planning Committee, the administra-| tion's own document, and the original i purpose in raising the issue. Management Committee was then advised by the Deans that they were unable to reconcile the differing positions. Management Committee recommended to the Board, and the Board agreed, that the issue of SelfFunded Credit Courses be withdrawn at this time. Present policy and practice will continue. | would like to thank all those who parti- cipated in the examination of this topic. Should it be raised again in the future, it would be brought to the attention of the Educational Policy & Planning Committee. No golds were won but there was lots of silver and bronze! Wrestlers Win! The newly formed Douglas College wrestling club (D.C.W.C.) evened up its dual meet record to 1-1, by securing a victory over the Pitt River Wrestling Club last Tuesday night. The Douglas grapplers beat Pitt 27-24, whom incidentally are coached by 1984 Olympic bronze medalist Chris Rinke. Earlier, Douglas lost to the Royal Roads but are now much improved due to recruiting over Christmas. Winners include Masid Gerami at 136 Ibs. and George Tosin at heavy weight; both wrestlers scored a pin ! over their Maple Ridge opponenets. In other news, Craig Amundsen of the D.C.W.C. captured a bronze medal at the B.C. Winter Games last Saturday in the 177 Ibs. weight category.
