In doing so Douglas has, in only its second year in the Fraser Valley Rugby Union first div- ision, won the league title. Douglas played each of the other eight teams in the league twice, winning 13 games, tying twice and losing only once for a total of 28 league points, but with only one match to play cannot catch Douglas. There will now be a playoff between Douglas and Pocomo on April 22nd. to determine who will repre- sent the Valley against the winner of the Vancouver Leauge. In the game against Langley MARK ANDREWS intercepted a Langley pass in the last minute of the first half and sprinted 40 yds. to give Douglas a 4-0 lead. In the second half witha strong wind at their back, Douglas dominated the play with BURT KIRBY scoring a try and MARK OVENDEN kicking a drop goal to shut out Langley. The Douglas second team also completed their schedule with an easy 13-0 victory over Langley. Douglas won 13 games and tied 3 this season and are tied for first place with Richmond. The latter, however, have two tough remaining games to play against Surrey & Pocomo, and should they tie or lose one of there games Douglas will win the second division league title. Scorers for Douglas were AL HARNESS & JOHN MARISCO with tries and BENNY BOON wi a convert and a penalty goal. The Douglas third with 6 wins and 3 losses in its 6-team league is tied for second place with Pocomo. Both teams have one remaining game to play. However, league leading Chilliwack will not be able to complete its schedule as they will be on tour in England & Wales, so the league title will be battled out between Douglas & Pocomo. its match against Langley on Saturday, Douglas pulled off an exciting 10-6 victory. After being ahead 4-0 on a try by GROVER - TELFORD, Langley went ahead 6-4 on two penalty goals. But with little time remaining in the §& game TIM TAYLOR of Douglas put up a perfect kick, the Langley pullback missed the ball which then bounced perfectly into the hands of NON WIK who sprinted in for the try. TIM TAYLOR made no mistake on the convert. Skipper HERBIE HAAF has done an outstanding job leading the thirds this year, and had another fine game against Langley.
