INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / MARCH 27, 1990 7 Athletic Update Red River College Badminton Search for President Red River Community college is seeking a new President to pro- vide leadership and direction for More Badminton Gold The number one B.C. badmin- ton team, which was made up of six Douglas College and two BCIT ath- letes, finished third overall in the Canadian Championships behind Quebec and Alberta this past week at BCIT. Sian Deng won a gold medal in women’s singles, easily defeating number two Quebec 11-1 and 11-3. Peter Chen won a bronze medal in men’s singles behind Alber- ta and Quebec, while Sharon Halpin and Aleen Mawji took 4th place in mixed doubles, and Trish Schill and Kelley Wong took 4th place in ladies’ doubles. the 1990’s.
