“WOMENS VOLLEYBALL TEAM SHOWS PROMISE

The Douglas College womens volleyball team this year appears to be the strongest
team the club has fielded in its four year history. The team is fortunate this

year to have as coach Mr. Harish Patramal, a coach of considerable prominence
in B. C. Volleyball circles.

To date, the team has competed in two tournaments finishing 2nd and lst. On
their last outing in Kamloops the girls totally annihilated all opposition
going through the entire tournament without losing a game.- Outstanding players
on the team to date are KAREN MORELEY, JACKIE PARNELL, DONNA HEMPHILL,

PAM JOHNSON, SHERRY FLETCHER, CHERYL MOFFET, VICKY BRKICH, and MARILYN PRINGLE.

The girls compete in tournaments at Vancouver City College and Okanagan College
on February 16th and 23rd respectively before going to the finals at B.C.I.T.
on March 8th and 9th. Should they win the B.C. Championships at B.C.I.T. they
go forward to the Western Canadian Championships in Calgary, on March 15th and
16th.
