Other programs available include an APPLE II Tutorial program,
and a useful mailing list program called The Address Book.

For those who want to improve their typing, Typing Tutor is
available. APPLE PILOT, includes lesson and language refer-
ence manuals.

 

Word-processing programs for the APPLE II+ are Apple Writer
II and Magic Window II. Both are available with self-help
manuals.

The library has recently acquired from PEMC (Provincial
Educational Media Centre) the Ifs and Thens of Programming,
Version 1,0 Plus DOS 3.3 diskette and booklet. A 'second'
program completes the set; Computing tools - Spread-sheets.
The latter program's major emphasis has been placed on the
operation of VISICALC because it can demonstrate the most
often-used features of electronic spreadsheets and it is the
most popular electronic spreadsheet program. All are part of
a series of Computer Literacy Instructional Modules (CLIM)--a
project supported by a grant from the National Science
Foundation (U.S.) and produced for the Minnesota Educational
Computing Consortium.

 

Those who wish to use a spreadsheet program may do so booking
FLASHCALC, also recently available in the Library.

The Complete Graphics System (T385/C656 1984) put out by
Penguin Software, is accompanied by a manual. Part I of the
Program allows the user to create two-dimensional graphics,
while Part II of the program allows for the creation of three-
dimensional line drawings. The graphics system works best with
the APPLE Graphics Tablet, which the College does not yet own.

 

The Library owns many manuals, various programming books and
computer magazines. The books are located in the circulating
collection in the class, QA76 to QA76.9. Some magazine titles
held are: Byte, Personal Computing, PC Magazine, Popular
Computing and NIBBLE, the reference magazine for APPLE Computing.
