CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION TO: MAD HATTER From: Centre for International Education November 23, 1987 FACULTY EXCHANGE PROGRAM WITH MOMOYAMA (St. Andrew's) UNIVERSITY Douglas College and Momoyama Gakuin (St. Andrew's) University of Osaka, Japan has recently agreed to start a faculty exchange program, starting in the fall of 1988. The main Purposes of the program are to promote professional development of faculty members and to make contributions to the improvement of educational programs at Douglas College and Momoyama. The initial exchange program will take place for a four month period starting in September, 1988, and will be available to ESL faculty members only due to the program arrangements at Momoyama. Douglas College Centre for International Education is presently accepting applications from interested ESL faculty members. The deadline is December llth (Fri.), 1987. This faculty exchange program between Douglas and Momoyama will be extended to all Douglas faculty members in 1989. VISITING SCHOLAR TO MOMOYAMA Besides the Faculty Exchange Program, Momoyama will invite an ESL faculty member as a visiting scholar for four months from May to August, 1988. Momoyama will provide the visiting scholar from Douglas with on-campus housing arrangements, an office room and a research grant. Although there will be no teaching obligations, he/she will be requested to assist the staff of Momoyama's International Centre in pre-departure orientations for participants in the 1988 Summer English Language programs in North America.
