INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / MARCH 179, 1991 New Sign to Inform Community The new readerboard sign is in the process of being made functional, and procedures and guidelines for the placing of announcements are cur- rently being developed. The sign is to be used for notices of interest to the external community, such as announcements for graduation, registra- tion, fundraising events, theatre and music productions, athletic events, conferences and large external events renting College facilities. It is not to be used in place of the current Silent Announce System, or for items such as internal room change notices and deadline dates. It will be used for an- nouncements for program/student recruitment. As well, the Douglas College Foundation is trying to formulate a sys- tem whereby internal users can, with a donation to the Foundation, ar- range for notices such as weddings and birthdays to be placed on the readerboard for a 24-hour period. Arrangements for requesting reader- board messages are presently being formulated. The College wishes to enhance the public announcement systems for both the external and internal College community by making employees aware of the systems and how to access them.
