The Architect's Models of the proposed extension to the Centennial Arts Centre are on view at the Centre in Bear Creek Park. We would like to take this opportunity to give you a breakdown in cost to the Surrey taxpayer of this magnificent facility. Financing has been proposed as follows: If work is completed by may 30th, 1974, 100% of Labour costs would be paid by the Federal Government's Winter Works Program = $88,000.00 . 1/3 would be paid by a Provincial Recreation Facilities Fund grant, --$58 666.00. Total Cost $177 ,000.00 Winter Works Program - (88,500.008 Recreation Facilities Fund - (58,666.00) Total Cost to Surrey $ 29,834.00 There is also a possibility that a further $40,000.00 can be obtained from the Federal Government National Museums fund, as well as from other cultural organizations. We have applauded the Parks & Recreation Commission's construction of magnificent sports facilities in Surrey over the past few years. Now, with the construction of the Art Gallery and Workshop facilities we and our children will be able to involve ourselves in the Cultural activities of not only Surrey, but of all of Canada, as well will be able to bring exhibitions of international stature into Surrey.
