The funding approval will allow Vancouver Community Ccllege to purchase equipment for the Dental Hygienists program which is being re-located from the University of British Columbia to VCC and will allow for equipment purchases necessary to meet curriculum changes to the Dental Mechanic Technicians programs. Both programs will be able to share the equipment provided where appropriate. "The approval of $112,000 for dental hygiene equipment means there will be continuity for the Dental Hygienists program, which provides excellent employment opportunities for graduates and is, therefore, in high demand," said Heinrich. Yhe Dental Mechanic Technicians program receiv : $97,000 for equipment purchases. The Vancouver Community College capital funding allocation is a part of a $2,158,600 capital funding approval for 12 B.C. post-secondary institutions. The funding will be used for a variety of capital renovations, including up-grading of lighting and alarm systems, ventilations system up-gradings, first-aid facility replacements, heavy-duty equipment shop renovations, parking lot extensions and electrical system up-gradinas.
