Page 4 Not happy with situation Student Input Needed I think it is outrageous that Douglas College has a Board of Directors so isolated from the needs of the students. A Board of Directors only concerned with one thing: bettering their political careers. Maybe it is time the stu- dents had more of a say. They’re the only ones that care Shawn Haight rallies The Premier Reason For the Strike Let me teach you the most im- portant lesson you can learn from this strike. Never ever vote for Mr. Anti-Education (I’m referring to the drop-out Bill VanderZalm if you haven’t already guessed) again. We should all know by now that education isn’t a priority for him - it isn’t even an issue. BOOT HIM OUT! Anonymous Students were not pleased with answers received at both an Bill Day answers questions Board Lacks Integrity Anyone who attended the stu- dent rally and the subsequent meet- ing with the administration board at Douglas College on Thursday, Nov 16, will already know what I can tell you; that being that the ad- ministration of this college lacks the courage and resolve required to act in the students best interest. Repeated attempts to get the board to respond to the students demands of maintaining negotiations 24 hours a day until resolution of a strike, and of a public statement by the board admitting that this col- lege is underfunded, were answered with rhetoric, and blank faces. This board works only in the interest of the politicians which in turn serves their own interest. I am a second year student currently enrolled in the Drama program. If I am to remain a student at this so-called college I expect to be treated as an adult human complete with emotions, concerns and believe it or not, a fututre. I cannot possibly say that I am proud of Douglas College be- cause because it refuses to acknow- ledge these facts. Furthermore, I would vehemently encourage anyone who is considering attend- ing this college not to do so is they wish to use Douglas College as a platform to launch their academic career.
