The short story, which appeared in Event 36/2, is also nominated for the 2008 Journey Prize and will appear in the Journey Prize Anthology (McClelland & Stewart) this Fall. * Performing and Fine Arts instructor Christine Dewar was one of five academics asked to choose their “Top 10 Canadian novels” for the Canada Day edition of The Globe and Mail. * Anthropology and Sociology Chair Marni Westerman presented a paper entitled Putting on ‘Band-Aids: The Contradictory Roles and Small Wins of Tempered Campus Radicals at the American Sociological Association Meetings in Boston, MA. * Philosophy and Humanities instructor Leonard Angel has a fictional dialogue with the late Ian Stevenson, prime empirical researcher into reincarnation, published in UK’s Skeptic magazine, Spring 2008. It’s titled, “Reincarnation Overview.” * In the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) Department, Dianne Maxwell is now the program coordinator. She replaces Fariyal Dhirani, who is retiring. Meanwhile, Maxwell, along with HSCW instructors Diane Batty and Tanvir Uppal, recently completed their Master's in Education. In Health Sciences, Fran Barlow moves to Departmental Assistant II replacing Sapna Singh who has moved to the position of Clinical Placement Assistant.
