CPR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Some of you may remember the student who "died" in my P.E. class two years ago. At that time I appealed to the Faculty/Staff/Administration at Douglas College to become certified in C.P.R. I also said that statistically one would come into contact with two heart attacks in their life time. Guess what? I was involved in an ap- parent heart attack at the Safeway store in White Rock, and yes, you guessed it, no one in the store had any C.P.R.. training. Also this summer a nine year old girl died after being struck in the chest by a softball - so it isn't always an old person's problem. What's all this leading up to, you say? BECOME TRAINED IN THE TECHNIQUES OF C.P.R. THIS SEMESTER !!! A free two-day training session leading to a certificate of completion will be offered: WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 25 4:00 - 6:00 pm THURSDAY NOVEMBER 26 12:00 - 2:00 pm This session is sponsored by the Faculty Professional Development Committee but is open to all college employees to a maximum class size of 15 people. To pre-register or obtain more information, contact C.P. & S., Room 2300, local 5472.
