Munro's Mexican Dream Team PAF dhs pss Dave Munro, Sports Institute Programmer, recently returned from playing in the prestigious Sheraton Buganvilias basketball tournament in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Munro’s team included former NBA all-star Jerome Kersey (of the Portland Trailblazers) and This fall more than 12,000 full and part-time students are invited to attend Douglas College's Fully Loaded Orientation Week (FLOW) event from August 20 to September 7. FLOW opens with three days of student achievement workshops to be held at both campuses. Students can access sessions on time management, student success and career planning. The Library, Financial Aid and Learning Centre will also be hosting seminars. Students will be Siiststeteaseeey former Duke University star Danny Meagher, along with former Canadian Olympians Lars Hansen and Howard Kelsey. ‘The group defeated several Mexican professional teams before losing in the championship final to a US-based team from Las Vegas. The basketball tournament was a part of Puerto Vallarta’s largest annual community sports event with amateur and professional athletes from Canada, the US and Mexico. Get Ready, Get Set... Volunteers Wanted invited to come to pre-register for their computer access, have their college ID photos taken, register at the library, visit the Bookstore or go on a tour of the campus. Each campus will also host several “FUN?” events on September 5, 6, and 7. On these days, from 1oam to 2pm, students will be encouraged to mix and mingle, enter contests and enjoy campus tours. There will also be lots of food (thanks to the DSU), and music. As a special treat event promotional teams will be on site to add to the excitement. The FLOW team welcomes your involvement. Not only is the popular wine- tasting event moving into the David Lam Campus, it now has the added attraction of showcasing a number of specialty Scotch whiskies. Mark your calendar for Friday, November 17 from 7 to 9:30pm and join more than 300 supporters of Douglas College as they meet and mingle and raise money for student aid.
